On August 25, 2024, over 100 golfers gathered at the stunning Coyote Creek Golf Course for the 2nd Annual VABA-SBGA Charity Golf Tournament, organized by the Vietnamese American Business Association (VABA) in partnership with the South Bay Golf Alliance (SBGA). This year’s event was not just about the love of golf, but about the collective power of community coming together for a meaningful cause.
Our efforts raised over $16,000, which will be donated to the Cancer Support Community San Francisco Bay Area and the American Cancer Society Fork Cancer, directly supporting cancer research and patient care. This successful fundraising event highlights VABA’s mission to not only empowering businesses but also giving back to the community through impactful philanthropy.
A Perfect Balance of Sport and Charity
The day kicked off with the golfers arriving for registration and welcome refreshments, setting a warm and friendly tone for the day ahead. As participants prepped for a day of competition, the air was filled with excitement and camaraderie. The Shotgun Start at 1:00 PM marked the beginning of the tournament, where golfers of all skill levels took to the course in a day of spirited play.
Participants enjoyed the scenic beauty and challenges of Coyote Creek Golf Course, an ideal venue that provided an enjoyable experience for everyone. Teams competed in various categories, promoting inclusivity and fostering a sense of unity among all participants.
As the day’s golfing wrapped up, attendees gathered for the much-anticipated Gala Dinner. The dinner was a feast of delicious, mouthwatering dishes that delighted everyone. But it wasn’t just about the food—what made this evening truly special was the live auction, which raised significant funds for the cause. Auction items donated by local businesses included exclusive products, and one-of-a-kind memorabilia, with enthusiastic bidding contributing to the success of the fundraiser.
