On June 28, 2024, the Vietnamese American Business Association (VABA) hosted the much-anticipated Season 2 of "Pitch Perfect: Unleashing Your Entrepreneurial Spirit" at the stunning Sonesta Silicon Valley. Nearly 200 attendees, including top investors, industry leaders, and ambitious entrepreneurs, gathered for an evening filled with groundbreaking ideas, invaluable networking, and endless opportunities.

Showcasing Innovation
The event showcased 11 innovative startups, each delivering compelling pitches to a panel of esteemed investors and business experts. The pitch sessions were electric, with insightful Q&A interactions that brought ideas to life and encouraged robust discussions. The startups presented projects across a wide range of industries, from biotechnology to automotive technology, reflecting the diverse and vibrant spirit of our entrepreneurial community.
VinAI, represented by Kim Cuong Pham, a global top 20 AI research-based company, initiating world-class research in Generative AI, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing.
Networking and Atmosphere
A highlight of the evening was the engaging networking atmosphere. Attendees savored delicious cuisine while mingling in the spacious venue, forging new connections and strengthening existing relationships. The positive feedback was overwhelming, with many participants praising the event for its role in facilitating meaningful interactions between experienced investors and emerging entrepreneurs.

The evening's panelists brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. Erik Larsen, Senior Vice President at Umpqua Bank and VABA Board Advisor, shared his extensive commercial banking insights. Lap Tang, a prominent angel investor and owner of Grand Century Mall, contributed his influential perspective as a leading Vietnamese American entrepreneur. Jordan Wahbeh, Managing Partner at SV Venture Group, offered support for early-stage funding, while Mitchell Weinstock, Venture Partner at HP Tech Ventures, provided deep insights into technology investments. Ethan Vo, Chief Investment Officer at Palm Team Capital, brought two decades of experience in finance, technology, and real estate.
The six panelists included angel investors, VCs, bankers, and business leaders, offering diverse expertise.
Celebrating Standout Performances
The event also celebrated standout performances. Mizo Brands was voted the best pitch by the audience, capturing their imagination and support, while Onsky Health was recognized as the best pitch by the panel for its innovative approach and potential impact. The other startups also received significant attention, showcasing the high caliber of talent and innovation present at the event.
